Ductus Font Presentation

Ductus is a typographic family designed by Thomas Jockin, who ask me to design a set of images showing the characteristics of this font for his Domestika course Typography for Designers: Create Fonts for the Marketplace.
The starting point was “Monks calligraphy”, so I mix that with the Belgian Monks Tradition, the abbey beer.
The arches in the main logo was made as an interpretation of the medieval abbey estructures. And the colors came easily from the Belgium flag :) with two more colors to complete the palette.
The entire proposal was created from the fact that the font have 5 weights converted/translated in 5 different flavors of the ABBAYE’s Beer. (Abbaye french translation of abbey) Where each variant adopted a color and characteristic name: PILS > Light; SIMPLE > Regular; DOUBLE > Medium; TRIPLE > Bold; and BRUNE > Black.
Thanks for watching!
